Incoterms 2000

Incoterms are the terms used in an international sales contract that clearly determine the respective obligations of the parties (seller or buyer). They have been set by the International Chamber of Commerce and reduce the risk of legal complications.

The merchants that wish to use Incoterms 2000 must clearly specify that the contract is governed by Incoterms 2000.

The diagram shows the "Critical Points" of international transport with respect to the application of the Incoterms 2000 in the sales contracts.

Also included are "FOB Stowed", "CFR FO" and "CFR Landed" that although they are not Incoterms as such, they are in general use.
